Version 1.0 was released today. The feature that was missing from 1.0 was “add to queue,” which allows you to create a current queue or playlist. I’ve now added that. I’m excited to introduce the latest version to you in this short post. New in 1.0 ⏭ A play queue — line tracks up while something is playing instead of replacing what is already there. q adds the highlighted song to the end of the queue, Shift+N puts it straight after the track that is playing, and Shift+U opens the queue to see what is lined up and drop tracks from it with d . Queueing with nothing playing simply starts that track. 🧭 Browsing and playing are two lists now — they used to be one, so searching or stepping back to browse an album while a song played could throw the now-playing line onto the wrong track. The queue is its own list, kept in step with mpv, and the now-playing line stays correct wherever you wander. 📌 The now-playing line survives browsing — going back to the artist or album list while a track plays no longer blanks it out. The queue was the last item on the roadmap; with it, TerminalDrome is feature-complete.","feature_image":"https://terminaldrome.de/images/terminaldrome_help_version_1.0.0.png"},{"id":"https://terminaldrome.de/posts/terminaldrome-0.9.7/","title":"A new release: Terminaldrome 0.9.7 is out","url":"https://terminaldrome.de/posts/terminaldrome-0.9.7/","published_at":"2026-09-29T15:20:34+00:00","excerpt":"v0.9.7 — the lyrics follow the song The lyrics view now follows the song. A track whose lyrics carry timestamps gets the line that is being sung marked and the view scrolling to keep it in sight, so the words can be read along with the music instead of hunted for. New in 0.9.7 🎤 Lyrics that follow the song — press Shift+Y and the line being sung is marked, the lines already past are dimmed, and the view scrolls to keep up on its own. Read the words along with the music instead of hunting for them. 📝 Lyrics that admit when they have no timings — a track whose lyrics arrive without timestamps says ohne Zeitangaben in the title bar. They are shown exactly as before, but a still page was otherwise indistinguishable from a feature that is not working. 📜 LRC parsing — [mm:ss.xx] and [mm:ss:xx] , several timestamps on one line, unsorted lines, and section markers such as [Chorus] . 🔀 A source switch is a round trip — each of Navidrome and Bandcamp keeps the view it was left in, so going to the other server and back returns to the same artist, album or playlist at the same place in its list. Two changes behind the first one are worth knowing about if you maintain a server: the timings live in structuredLyrics , which reaches clients through getLyricsBySongId , not in the plain getLyrics response. TerminalDrome asks for that endpoint first and falls back to getLyrics for servers without the OpenSubsonic extension, so nothing is required of you and no track loses lyrics it could be shown before.","feature_image":"https://terminaldrome.de/images/td_097_lyrics.png"},{"id":"https://terminaldrome.de/posts/new-release-of-terminaldrome-0.9.6/","title":"New Release of TerminalDrome 0.9.6","url":"https://terminaldrome.de/posts/new-release-of-terminaldrome-0.9.6/","published_at":"2026-09-27T19:15:31+00:00","excerpt":"Welcome to a brand new release of TerminalDrome, I hope you enjoy it. Features New in 0.9.6 🔊 The visualizer stops lying — without cava the bars were a canned demo animation, and nothing on screen said so, so it looked exactly like a visualiser reacting to the music. It now labels the bars while they are a demo and names the program that is missing. The label disappears as soon as real levels arrive, so a working setup shows nothing extra. 🌍 Install commands that match your system — the setup wizard and these instructions resolve the package manager from /etc/os-release instead of assuming Arch.
